Made in a microwave oven, this delicious matcha mug cake is a simple single-serve cake with a subtle and delicious matcha flavor. You can prepare this quick and easy egg-free dessert in just 2 minutes. It can be enjoyed by vegans too.
Put all the dry ingredients in a small coffee mug. Mix.
Add all the wet ingredients and mix well.
Put the mug in the mircowave oven and microwave for around 1 minute and 15 seconds or until the cake is baked well.
Sprinkle some powdered sugar on top or garnish with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Make sure that the ingredients you are using are at room temperature.
Different microwaves may give different results, so keep an eye on your cake after 50 seconds in the microwave and microwave further only if required.
While mixing the wet and dry ingredients make sure no dry ingredients are left unmixed at the bottom of the mug.
Choose the size of the mug appropriately. If you use a very large mug, the cake will stay at the bottom and the cake will not look very appealing. And, if you use a very small mug, the ingredients will overflow on microwaving.
Adding vanilla extract is optional. Even if you add it, add it in a very small quantity otherwise it will overpower the subtle flavor of matcha.
Adjust the amount of sugar to suit your taste.
