Easy Hummus Recipe

Hummus is a delicious and easy to make vegan side dish from the Middle East.

  • 1.5 cups boiled/ canned chickpeas hummus made with soaked chickpeas tastes a lot better
  • 2 tbsp tahini paste
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/4 cup water or as required to get a smooth consistency


  • Put all the ingredients in a grinder and make a paste. Stop the grinder, add some water and grind again to get a finer paste.
  • Take out the paste in a bowl. Drizzle some olive oil and sprinkle paprika.
  • Serve with the falafel/ pita bread. It can also be enjoyed as a thick dressing of any Mediterranean salad or as a spread.
