Vegan Lahmacun/ Lahmajoun
Vegan Lahmacun or Lahmajoun a very tasty thin-crust pizza from Turkey. This vegan Turkish Pizza or Arabic pizza is a must-try by every Pizza lover.
Servings 5 small pizzas
Ingredients for the dough
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- water as required to knead a soft elastic dough
Ingredients for the topping
- 1 cup soya granules
- 1/2 red bell pepper roughly chopped
- 1 white onion roughly chopped
- 1 tomato roughly chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 4 minced garlic
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp red pepper paste
- 1/2 tablespoon red chili flakes adjust as per taste
- 1 teaspoon dry oregano
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
- Salt as per taste
- Boiling water to soak soya granules
Mix all the ingredients under the dough and knead to make a soft and smooth dough. Cover with a plastic wrap and keep aside for around 20-30 minutes.
Soak the soya granules in boiling water and keep aside for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, fluff with a fork. If there is some extra water, drain it.
Mix all the ingredients under toppings in a bowl.
Divide the dough into equal size balls. Take one ball at a time, roll it between your hands. Dust some dry flour and roll it into thin pizza bases with the help of a rolling board and pin.
Now put the pizza bases on a baking tray, put a thin layer of topping on each base, spread evenly leaving the corners.
Bake in a pre-heated oven for around 8-10 minutes at 200 degrees C or until the bread turns light brown and topping also gets nicely cooked.
