Lebanese lentils soup is a quick, comforting soup made with split red lentils and gently spiced in a Middle Eastern style. Brightened with fresh lemon juice, it brings light, warming flavors.

Step 1: Collect the recipe ingredients.

Step 2: Heat olive oil in a cooking pot. Add chopped garlic and sauté for a few seconds. Add a bay leaf.

Step 3: Add chopped onion and sauté until it turns translucent.

Step 4: Add chopped carrot and celery. Saute for about 2 minutes.

Step 5: Add cumin powder, cayenne pepper, turmeric powder, chili flakes, and a vegetable bouillon cube.

Step 6: Add rinsed red lentils and salt. Sauté for a minute.

Step 7: Add water and mix everything.

Step 8: Cook covered for around 20 minutes on a medium flame or until the lentils are nicely cooked. Remove the bay leaf.

Step 9: Blend the soup with a hand blender until smooth and creamy.

Step 10: Add fresh lemon juice, chopped parsley or cilantro, extra virgin olive, and chili flakes. Your delicious Lebanese lentils soup is ready!
