POTATO CHICKPEA CURRY

Step 1: Collect the recipe ingredients.

Step 2: Rinse and soak chickpeas in water for at least 7 hours.

Put in a pressure cooker along with salt and water. Cook till 6 whistles or until nicely cooked.

Step 4: Make a paste of onion and garlic.

Step 5: Make another paste of tomato and green chilies.

Step 6: Heat oil in a pan and add whole spices. Sauté until the spices turn fragrant.

Step 7: Add onion garlic paste. Cook until it turns golden brown.

Step 8: Add powdered spices and sauté for a few seconds.

Step 9: Add tomato paste and salt.

Step 10: Cook until the tomatoes are no longer raw.

Step 11: Add potato cubes and sauté for 2-3 minutes.

Step 13: Cook covered for around 20 minutes or until the potatoes are nicely cooked.

Step 14: Once the potatoes are cooked add chopped ginger.

Step 15: Add cooked chickpeas. Add more water, if required. Cook covered for another 5 minutes.

Step 16: Add kasoori methi, garam masala, chopped cilantro, and lime juice. Mix. Your chickpea potato curry is ready to be served!
