Recipe tips and tricks

  • Use good quality matcha to get the best flavor and nutritional benefits.

  • If you want to enjoy the taste of matcha, don't add any other flavoring ingredient like vanilla as it will dominate the subtle flavor of matcha.
  • Adjust the amount of sweetener to suit your taste, you can also skip the sweetener if you want.
  • Matcha yogurt tastes best if served chilled.

Frequently asked questions

Are matcha and green tea the same?

No, matcha and green tea are different. Matcha is a shade-grown tea whereas green tea is cultivated in sunlight. Matcha is consumed in powdered form whereas green tea has dried leaves. Also, matcha has a bright green color, unlike green tea which has a brownish green color. Their taste is also completely different.

There are other differences too but these are the major differences between matcha and green tea.

Can I use regular yogurt instead of Greek yogurt in this recipe?

If you don't have Greek yogurt, you can use any thick yogurt. However, Greek yogurt will give you the best result.
